Agripunica is an exceptional joint venture that brings together esteemed players in the wine industry. The collaboration involves the renowned Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia Group, Cantina di Santadi, led by President Antonello Pilloni, and the legendary Tuscan consulting oenologist Giacomo Tachis.

It was Dr. Tachis who first recognized the potential of Sardinia and Carignano, persuading others to join forces and create a remarkable Carignano wine. With their collective expertise and passion, they embarked on a journey to produce exceptional wines that showcase the unique character of the region.

The Wine

The wines of Agripunica fall under the IGT (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) of Isola dei Nuraghi, paying homage to Sardinia's ancient stone structures. The vineyards are situated in Sulcis Meridionale, an area known for its rugged beauty in southern Sardinia. The region benefits from mild winters, hot and dry summers, and an abundance of sunlight, providing optimal growing conditions for the vineyards.

At the heart of Agripunica's winemaking philosophy is the Carignano grape, known for its potential to thrive in this terroir. With careful vineyard management and a dedication to quality, Agripunica aims to unlock the full potential of Carignano, resulting in wines of exceptional character and expression.

The winery's location in the rugged hills of southern Sardinia adds a sense of authenticity to their wines. The collaboration between the Santadi family, Dr. Giacomo Tachis, considered the architect of the Super-Tuscan movement, and Marquis Incisa Della Rocchetta, the winemaker of Sassicaia, forms an impressive all-star team. The distinctive purple capsule and round logo of Barrua wines serve as a subtle tribute to their illustrious origins, while the name Agricola Punica references the ancient Punic civilization that once thrived across Sardinia. With their dedication to quality and respect for the land's heritage, Agricola Punica wines offer a unique and captivating expression of the region.
