Domaine Nadine Ferrand Macon Blanc, 2018: 1 ha of 30 year old vines, located on the top of the hill, next to the winery. Lovely honeysuckle and honeycomb notes, white flowers and a touch of cinnamon-dusted melon and tropical fruits on the nose. Juicy and succulent but a rich vein of fresh acidity and great crunchy apple finish. This is a very good entrée de gamme Macon
Meltwater Sauvignon Blanc, 2018: A crisp and crunchy wine with none of the stereotypical characters that are associated with this wine style. Gooseberry, tropical fruit and nice acidity, with a crisp clean finish. Very enjoyable!
Pic and Chapoutier Saint Péray, 2017: This marsanne is one of the wines that Anne-Sophie Pic, three-starred Michelin chef, and energetic winemaker Michel Chapoutier have worked together on to create the perfect food match. According to Sophie, it would go very well with scampi marinated with mint, accompanied by green pea purée and spring onions with mint-flavoured liquorice. You can find the recipe here.
Clemens Busch Riesling Trocken, 2018: A beautiful nose of pear, mirabelle, grapefruit and white peach. The wine is nicely smooth and delicately zesty on the palate and leaves a great feel of herbs and spices
Cousino Macul Antiguas Reservas Chardonnay, 2016: "When I visited Chile to see the winemaking there, I was astonished at the way in which the wineries were able to make French-style wines in a much more favourable climate. With a noticeable ripe melon smell and plump flavour, this would go well with creamy chicken dishes or on its own." Nathan Hill
Villa Sparina Gavi di Gavi DOCG, 2019: Bright yellow color, delicate bouquet of flowers and fruit with a scent of peach. Full and rich flavour, the complete grape-ripening gives a wine which is soft on the palate with a fine aromatic flavor at the end.
