An evening with Domaines Albert Bichot

Price for current Club Pontet Labrie Members (priority access): £60 per person

Regular price: £140 per person

In conjunction with our partner Seven Investment Management, we are absolutely delighted to welcome winemaker Matthieu Mangenot from multiple award-winning Domaines Albert Bichot, one of Burgundy’s maisons of reference, now run by the sixth generation of the Bichot family for a dinner at 67 Pall Mall.

The Wine Advocate’s Neal Martin comments that Bichot makes “really quite delicious, complex wines that often surprise people in blind tastings.” Consistently top quality, and well-priced, from their village wines to the most senior Grand Crus, all show the precision, typicity and expressive, vibrant, aromatically mature fruit that make a case or two essential purchases for all Burgundy lovers.

Among the jewels owned by the Bichot Family, a monopoly La Moutonne in Chablis Grand Cru amongst the famous Grands Crus of Cote de Nuits, the family is the most important proprietor of Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru Malconsorts, neighbour to the famous La Tache

The drinks reception (18:30 to 19:15) will take the form of a mini 2018 En Primeurs tasting. Guests  will be the first in the UK to try a selection of barrel samples from this much vaunted vintage prior to their release.

Throughout the evening artist Johny Midnight will be painting live. Founder of Gallery Midnight, Johny’s bold canvases draw on the inspiration from his time in Chamonix, St Lucia, London and sailing in between.  Whether mountains, seascapes, or city landmarks, his works have an arresting visceral intensity.  Recent pieces have sold for £7,000 and one lucky guest will win the work he complete on the evening in our prize draw.

Wine list:

Bourgogne Cote d'Or Pinot Noir 'Secret de Famille' 2017

Chablis 1er Cru 'les Vaillons', Domaine Long-Depaquit 2017

Gevrey-Chambertin 'les Murots', Domaine du Clos Frantin 2017
