Angus Wine Guru Case

Out of stock

Lockdown 3 is upon us and there is STILL no better way to get through it by filling your wine rack with some thrilling wines. I've chosen a great selection (if I don't say so myself...) of some our more recent additions to the Sommelier Selection, many of which I had over the Christmas period and I can truly say they are delicious.

Weingut Schnaitmann Pinot Gris Steinwiege, 2017: A powerful and intense wines where the fruit is allowed to dominate, alongside earthy, spicy and herbal flavours..

Château de la Presle, Sauvignon de Touraine, 2019: Vinified and aged in stainless steel, made in a lovely fresh style to be drunk young. It is an aromatic and floral Sauvignon blanc with crisp citrusy aromas. Great to pair with goat cheese!

Coffele, Soave Classico Castel Cerino DOC, 2018: "Pale lemon-gold. Smoky and meaty, with subtle sage-like herbal notes and apple fruit. Spicy and smoky sage and apple palate with phenolic grip, a touch of salt and a medium-long finish." 16 pts, Jancis Robinson

Château Cap d'Or St Georges St Emilion, 2015: "This is nicely pitched in terms of richness and ripeness, showing depth and freshness. A hallmark of this great vintage. Aromas and flavors of red and dark cherries with floral and fresh, berry pastry notes. There’s a lot to like here. Drink or hold." 92 pts, James Suckling

Domaine de Montille Bourgogne Rouge, 2015: "The palate is well balanced with chewy red berry fruit on the entry, cranberry and wild strawberry, although I would like to see a little more flesh form towards the finish by the time of bottling." Neal Martin, WA

Domaine Andre Colonge et Fils, Fleurie, 2018: "The 2018 Domaine André Colonge Fleurie could hardly be more different, being delicately perfumed, soft, silky and almost indecently succulent, crammed as it is with luscious red and black fruit. It’s such a great pleasure, Beaujolais as fine as this." Jonathan Ray Wine Spectator
