Situated in South Africa’s Western Cape province, Barton Vineyards cover 30 hectares. But it’s not just grapes on the estate. There are plum orchards, olive groves, lavender fields, geranium and rosemary from which olive oil, essential oil products and honey are all produced too. The estate as a whole is around 200 hectares. The vines are set on the gentle southerly slopes of the Kogelberg overlooking the Botriver Valley to Walker Bay. The frost-free climate and exposure to the cool sea breezes ensures that exceptional award-winning wines are produced. On the estate are two breeding pairs of the endangered blue crane. Barton Vineyards has adopted the crane as its logo on every bottle. Sounds like paradise – a paradise you could experience if you happen to be in the area. Barton Villas on the estate overlook the olive groves, vineyards, lavender, pockets of planted proteas, the majestic Kogelberg and Bablionsberg mountains. See you there!
