Burgundy 2016

2016, whilst far from heterogenous, at best combines the qualities of the two preceding vintages evenly across both reds and whites. 2016 is, as reported in Decanter, “the perfect follow-on from 2015... The whites are sculpted and intense, the reds are poised fresh and vivacious. As classical as you like.”

Our Wine Director Tom Harrow's reports on the vintage for FT’s How To Spend It - Part I and Part II offer illuminating commentary from some of our favourite growers alongside his own impressions of the wines. In summary: Quality is definitely not a problem for both whites and reds but quantity and demand certainly are.
