Castello di Ama

Castello di Ama
Ama takes its name from the small borgo, or hamlet, nestled in the hills at almost 500 metres' elevation in the Tuscan hills. Castello di Ama proper was established in the 1960s by a group of families who fell under the spell of this remarkable place and undertook the restortion of Ama's past and ultimately the production of a Chianti Classico that would stand among the world's most prestigious wines. In addition to the crus Ama also produces L'Apparita; Tuscany's first single vineyard merlot which is undoubtedly on a par with the other great bottlings of this varietal.
