The earliest written reference to Château Clauzet dates back to 1850. The estate belonged to the Bernard family influential locals and consisted of nearly 80 hectares, half under vine, half devoted to other crops, as was often the case at the time.

Most of the vineyard plots are located on that famous string of deep gravel overlooking the river from Margaux to Saint-Estèphe, where the finest growths in the Médoc are found.

the nose is fruity, expressive and complex with aromas of red fruit. Fruity and intensive in the mouth. Well blended tannins, displaying rare elegance and finesse. the final is long and persistent.
