This thriving Château is based in the Libournais of Bordeaux, close to both St Emilion and Pomerol.
The severe frost of 1956 wiped out most of the vines on the Château Haut-Goujon estate. Since then the Garde family has worked tirelessly to restore their quality vines. The younger members of the family have spent time in the USA, which has heavily influenced their management of the estate. The vineyards are now run on biodynamic principles and the wine is made with minimal intervention.
The château’s vineyards extend to 18 hectares, 75% of which are planted with Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% with Malbec and Cabernet Franc. This range gives the wine elegance and complexity.
