The Stupino family bought the castle and part of its vineyards in 1963, but the property’s wine history goes back much further: records show Nebbiolo from the estate’s Santo Stefano vineyard being identified separately as far back as 1767. Today, the estate has around 27 hectares of vines across almost 60 hectares of property.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBarbaresco is the main event, particularly Santo Stefano, the estate’s monopole and one of its standout sites. Castello di Neive was also an early champion of Arneis, beginning a clonal-selection project in 1976 that helped improve the quality and recognition of the variety. Alongside Barbaresco and Arneis, the estate makes Barbera, Pinot Nero and other Langhe wines.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere are two cellars: a modern facility for production and the historic cellar beneath the castle, where the more important wines are aged in wood.
