This was how the story began: Danis Basset has always been passionate about wine. His parents used to sell grapes to the cooperative but were notably famous for their flowers and greenhouses. One day, he got severely electrocuted while working for the family business. Luckily, he was still alive. This event made him decide to do what he had always dreamt to do: making his own wine. He stopped the family’s horticultural business and closed the door to 1000 individual clients. “It was hard for my parents,” he said. Bus he had to do so to be able to concentrate on the wine business. He used the empty greenhouses to grow a special kind of oak tree which are also used for producing truffles. His enthusiasm for wine made him a rising star, and most important of all, a great winemaker in the Rhône valley region.
