Domaines Francis Abecassis
The father & daughter team, Francis and Elodie Abécassis of Domaines Francis Abécassis, have been producing cognacs from its own estate for many years. With 220 hectares of vines, they are today one of the largest independent producers in the Cognac appellation.
The estates that they have highlighted to produce the exceptional Cognacs are ABK6, Leyrat, Reviseur and Grands Domaines. Sustainable growing methods are used, and the Ugni-Blanc grapes are harvested plot by plot and immediately pressed on site in order to avoid the transport and overly long treatment procedures. The wines are distilled twice: the first heating gives birth to the "brouillis" that are then reintroduced into the alambic to become the "bonne chauffe" (good heat). Their distilleries are not automatic, therefore each master distiller detects and selects the best eaux-de-vie.Domaines Abécassis was awarded the ‘Excellence in Craftsmanship Award’ at the International Spirits Challenge in 2010 and ‘Cognac Producer of the Year Award’ at the New York International Spirits Competition in 2014.
