Doolhof is located to the north of Wellington between the Groenberg, Limietberge and Hawekwa Mountains. When Settlers first set sight on the Estate in the early 18th Century they noted the many hills and vales and aptly named it Doolhof, which means labyrinth in Afrikaans. Today, this labyrinthine topography is put to use in the placement of our vineyards, thereby taking advantage of the many micro-climates and areas which are ultimately expressed in the Doolhof Estate wines.
The estate is one of the new wave, with a relatively young team, producing elegant, high quality wines with distinctive characteristics that reflect the local area. Doolhof Wine Estate’s wines have been very successful in both domestic and world wine competitions.
