Meet the Winemaker: Familia Nin Ortiz

On Monday 11th February we will be joined by Ester Nin and her husband Carles Ortiz of Familia Nin Ortiz to taste their prestigious Priorat wines. Ester Nin's day job is being ‘the right hand’ of Daphne Glorian of Clos I Terrasses. Ester bought a tiny parcel (less than 3 acres) of old vines on the steepest hillside slopes above the village of Porrera. Like Clos Erasmus, Nit de Nin is made using biodynamic techniques. The vineyards are even older (around 80-100 years old) and the vineyard is one of the highest in Priorat. The soils are the famous licorella schist. Around 3 barrels are made each year from 60% Garnacha and 40% Carignan. The Planetes is from an small parcel of vines near the Nit de Nin vineyard, these Garnacha and Carignan vines are also biodynamically farmed on licorella soil.

This is your chance to taste some of Priorat's most exciting wines at an informal sit down tasting. Tickets include eight wines and a selection of cheese and meats.

The Wines:

Planetes Blanc 2017

Terra Vermella de Nin Blanc 2015

Selma de Nin Blanc 2016

Planetes de Nin Garnatxes En Amfora 2016

Planetes 2015

Nit de Nin, Mas d’en Caçador 2015

Nit de Nin, La Coma d'en Romeu 2016

Clos I Terrasses Laurel 2016
