Weird and Wonderful Mixed Case
Out of stock
January is stocktake time and during the pre-Spring clean we always uncover a few left over bottles from cases split for tastings or mixed selections that have gone under the radar. We've put together an eclectic mixed case below, with six fascinating wines that are doing something totally original.
Mother Rock Liquid Skin, 2019: A deep golden orange color, with complex aromas of exotic fruits, apricot, honey and quince. The palate has structure but also plenty of freshness and minerality, making it serious but also incredibly drinkable.
Arlington Red, 2019: Deep ruby in appearance, with a beautiful nose of cherry, blackberry and hints of strawberry. The palate is bursting with English red berries, further dark cherry and damson at the forefront, and hints of raspberry. Subtle oak and soft tannin make for a wonderfully well balanced finish.
Weingut Schnaitmann Pinot Gris Steinwiege, 2017: A powerful and intense wines where the fruit is allowed to dominate, alongside earthy, spicy and herbal flavours.
Coteaux du Layon ‘Passerillé’ Philippe Delesvaux, 2018: We are fascinated by the balance of this wine, thanks to the concentration of sugars and the acidity and minerality typical of Chenin Blanc
Col Vetoraz Valdobbiadene Extra Dry, NV: Delicate fruity bouquet, elegant and well balanced. To be sipped with friends as an aperitif. It is a perfect match with delicate and exquisite dishes.
Jane Eyre Fleurie, 2018: Bursting with morello cherry fruit and a note of vanilla and nutmeg, then a whiff of bacon fat and woodsmoke, and more dry spices. The palate has an unexpected florality – violets mostly, and a hit of kirsch backed by peppery tannins. Jane is once again showing how cru Beaujolais needs to be taken seriously.
