Château Teyssier Kosher
Kosher Chateau Teyssier
Teyssier is a solid performer, gracing the 1st class lounges of several airlines, the choice of a Grand Prix or two, and recommended by critics like The Wall Street Journal's Will Lyons and Master of Wine Tim Atkin. It's also one of our key picks and best value reds, great for impressing at dinner parties.
We are delighted to announce that Jonathan Maltus has agreed to produce a limited selection kosher edition of his famous estate wine Château Teyssier 2019.
This is being sold on an allocation basis and at a special price for people who make reservations at the crowdfunding stage. Delivery will be at the end of 2021.
“Tight, focused ripe fruit with chewy, polished tannins. It’s full-bodied with a lingering and precise finish. Extremely well-done.” 93-94 points, James Suckling
The entry-level Maltus wine, made mostly from vines on the sands of St Emilion. The blend is 70% Merlot picked between September 24th and October 7th, and 30% Cabernet Franc picked on October 7th and the 8th, the alcohol 14.8%. A restrained character on the nose, perfumed red cherry intertwined with barrel spice, toast, liquorice and tobacco. A rather cool, gently composed style on the palate, with a taut shell of fruit, underpinned by chalk-dust substance and a rather attractive backbone of tightly integrated and very ripe tannins. Elegant, with peppered fruit and all the tobacco and spice of the nose, with a sense of energy and grip to it. Long, warm and charged in the finish, this is a good Teyssier this year, impressive in view of the volumes produced. It should evolve well.done.” 91-93 points, Chris Kissack, The Wine Doctor
