Christmas Classics (6)
Out of stock
To keep your cellars stocked and thirsts quenched over the festive period, we’ve put together the Honest Grapes Greatest Hits Mixed Case. Six number one wines that were so enduringly popular this year we simply had to go back and get more! With smash hits from Portugal, France, Spain & Italy, there’s plenty to keep you entertained over Christmas.
Estancia del Silencio, Jumilla, 2018: This gorgeous red is made from 100% Monastrell and offers a charming nose of warm, fruity aromas. On the palate the dark fruits rise to the fore, backed by smooth creamy tannins. Jumilla always provides the perfect foil for a pizza and the Estancia del Silencio is no exception.
Joven Godello, Viña Barroca, 2019: Wonderfully fragrant, with ripe fruits and spices on a tapestry of earthy and floral aromas, this superstar from Vina Barroca hits the palate with a skilfully deft touch, before fully revealing itself in a long, dense and persistent finish.
Belle Etoile Merlot, 2019: "The 2019 La Belle Etoile ‘Décadence’ Merlot is an easy-going quaffing red from the Languedoc. With plenty of bramble fruit jam on the nose, lots of forward, juicy fruit in the mouth and just a touch of tannin, it slips down easily and is really rather jolly." Jonathan Ray, Spectator Wine
Lavradores de Feitoria Rosé, 2018: "The 2018 Lavradores de Feitoria Rosé comes from Portugal’s River Douro, the river of gold itself. A deep reddish-pink, it’s made from Touriga Franca plus, I gather, a splash of one or two other local varieties. It’s deliciously floral on the nose (think rose petals) with plenty of wild strawberries and hedgerow fruit on the palate too." Jonathan Ray, The Spectator
Château Trébiac Rouge, 2017: "Dry but also fruity, this wine that will soon be delicious comes from vineyards once owned by Franciscan nuns and maintained by the de Butler family. When the balance kicks in, the acidity and the bright spicy character will go well with the black-currant fruits." 90 points, Wine Enthusiast
Château de la Presle, Sauvignon de Touraine, 2019: This Sauvignon Blanc is vinified and aged in stainless steel, made in a lovely fresh style to be drunk young. It is an aromatic and floral Sauvignon blanc with crisp citrusy aromas. Great to pair with goat cheese!
