A New Adventure: Hospices de Nuits Syndicate
After the success of the last two year’s Hospice de Beaune Syndicates, crowdfunding barrels of unique cru Burgundy fine wines, we are now keen to offer Club Members a chance to be part of a brand new opportunity with “the Hidden Hospice” …. And so we're delighted to announce the preliminary call for new member interest in joining our 2021 crowdfunded syndicate for barrels to be purchased at the annual Hospices de Nuits auction on 14th March.
Pre-dating the foundation of the bigger Hospices de Beaune by 173 years, the “hidden hospice” is known only to a few insiders and Burgundy afficionados. The estate today comprises 12.5 hectares of vineyards, including choice parcels from within the wine communes of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, and Gevrey-Chambertin, including the jewel in the crown the ‘Les Didiers’ 1er Cru Monopole. These are unique wines, with only a few hundred bottles produced, as masterpieces of Burgundian art, and proceeds of the auction go to supporting local medical charities and initiatives.
As those who participated in our Beaune Syndicates during the autumn will know, 2020 is shaping up to be yet another sumptuous, powerful Burgundy vintage as growers and winemakers adapt to hotter temperatures. Having tasted barrel samples from the Hospice de Nuits 2020s during Tom's Burgundy trip late last year, we can confirm this is absolutely the case, with freshness and svelte tannins to balance the ripe fruit.
Single memberships are 18 litres (24 bottles or equivalent in larger formats). You are welcome to take multiple/corporate memberships. As the auction is on 14th March we aim to have all commitments by the end of the February in order to invoice for the 80% expected total (see “small print” in brochure) and have the funds in place before bidding.
We have fewer than half a barrel of shares remaining and if you are interested please get in touch with the team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
