Bordeaux 2020 Summit: A Sustainable Future?

We once again we find ourselves in the waiting room of the 2020 Bordeaux En Primeur Campaign, although when exactly it starts is as always a closely guarded secret of the Bordelais. We have been posting our thoughts, predictions and vintage reports on our dedicated campaign page here – Bordeaux 2020 En Primeur – The Heroic Vintage.

Instead of twiddling our thumbs as we wait for La Place to launch the campaign, we’ve decided to follow suit from last year and host another Bordeaux Wine Summit on Tuesday 25th May @6.30pm.

Once again, we have assembled an expert panel of leading lights from across the wine industry to discuss all things Bordeaux, with a keen focus on the question of sustainability. This is a particularly important issue for us and our Club Members, and our pioneering work in reducing our carbon footprint has been recognised by the Drink Business’ Green Awards, where we were Green Retailer of the year in 2018 and 2020, and runner-up in 2019.

In advance of the Summit, we will survey our members on the current state of the Bordeaux market and its future in the context of sustainability. We will then share the results of this survey on the evening of the Summit.

The panel will be comprised of the following stellar guests and we look forward to welcoming you for what promises to be a fascinating evening.

Tom Harrow – Honest Grapes Co-Founder
Veronique Dausse –Château Phélan Segur MD
Chloe Ashton – Wine Lister COO
Gavin Quinney – Bordeaux vintage reporter for Jancis Robinson and Liv-Ex, and owner of Château Bauduc

As last year this is a free to attend event and will be hosted as a webinar on zoom, so please register your interest here - Bordeaux Wine Summit 2021 - and we will be in touch with joining instructions.
