Honest Grapes launches Grower Tastings and Wine Therapy

We've developed a range of fun online tastings and experiences to keep you entertained over the coming weeks. We trialed this new format on Tuesday with Tom's Fireside Chat, where we were joined live from Tuscany by Brunello winemaker Filippo Chia of Castello Romitorio. Several dozen guests joined via Zoom to listen, comment, and ask questions whilst enjoying their favourite Tuscan wines safely and responsibly at home. Here's what Anna had to say!

“Thank you to you and the HG team for organising the virtual event last night - a great way to end the day and take our minds off all the craziness!
Filippo is indeed a fountain of knowledge and I dare say he has inherited his father’s gift for poetry/storytelling! Fascinating history both for the estate and the region. I sincerely hope the opportunity arises to meet him in person one day.”

Our next Grower Tasting is on 1st April (details below) and features Northern Rhone superstar Lionel Faury, who will be presenting his range of wines across various appellations including Condrieu, St Joseph and Cote Rotie. Future special guests include biodynamic Mosel maestro Clemens Busch, 100-point St Emilion winemaker Jonathan Maltus OBE, Priorat powerhouse duo Ester Nin and Carles Ortiz, leading Burgundy micro-negociant Jane Eyre, Rodolphe Frerejean Taittinger of Avize-based Champagne Maison Frerejean Freres, and Marchese Anselmo Guerrieri Gonzaga from “Sassicaia of the North” San Leonardo.

We are shortly to launch our Wine Therapy Sessions: Around the World in 48 Wines, an explorative, escapist series of online tastings which you can dip in and out of or come along for a full journey around the wine-producing regions of the world. Led by Tom, each scheduled tasting will comprise a set of three wines (sent in advance) and will be held via Zoom. For those unable to attend, a 5-minute video about the wines will also be included with each pack. The first four sessions, which can be purchased individually or as a case of 12 bottles are:

Sessions 1-4 (case 1)
• ABC? - From Meursault to Macon – classic white Burgundies
• Ancient World – Georgia, Lebanon and Syria
• Between Two Saints – Bordeaux from St Estephe to Saint Emilion
• Beyond Chiantishire – Central and Southern Italy

Planned future sessions/cases include: “Global Bubbles”, “Drinks Down Under“, Fortifying Drafts – Exploring Sherry and Port” and “Teutonic Tipples” and we have another eight in the series in production.

We hope to get our physical events up and running again as soon as the situation changes but it's safe to say that it's a very exciting time to be part of the Honest Grapes family.
