Last week we held a small Panel Tasting focusing on Bordeaux. In this week's Wine Wisdom Tom will be unveiling that some new wines will be listed shortly, as well as highlighting two of the stars of the show. So if you're a fan of Bordeaux make sure you watch the videos below.

Event: One week till our Chocolate & Wine Masterclass!
On the 6th of October from 6.30pm - 8.30pm join us at Oliver Sweeney in Covent Garden as we partner up with Cocoba Chocolate to bring you the sweetest event of the year. We wanted to experiment with something a bit different, using only the finest chocolate, from the very best cocoa beans personally sourced by owner Darren Litton. We thought this was a great match for our own small batch, handmade, quality wines.

Premium Wine: Two stars from our Bordeaux Panel Tasting
Chateau Civrac Wild White, 2011
Chateau Civrac is part of the brace new band of Bordeaux Chateaux who are combining old world structure with New World fruit forwardness. Fresh and bright but complex and exciting too. Grapefruit, peach on the palate with spiced vanilla on the finish. Lively and very bright easy drinking with friends.
Chateau du Haut-Goujon, La Fleur du Barril, 2011
The Garde family, 4th generation of the renowned Chateau Haut-Goujon, brings us La Fleur du Barril, a big wine from a specially selected vineyard on the estate. This wine has plenty of fruit but old school refinement. 2011 is a lighter vintage and the whack of Merlot certainly helps to give a little more opulence and suppleness.
'Not really a recipe this week, but a fairly simple food pairing suggestion, which ties back in with the Chateau Civrac. Goats Cheese... brilliant, that slightly acrid, smokey, high acid, citrusy character goes really well with Sauvignon Blanc, add in a few roast peppers or vegetables to increase the sweetness. Absolutely delicious.'
Gaja Barbaresco Costa Russi, 2013
'Medium ruby colour. The class, strength and finesse in this wine is ever present with berry, dark chocolate and walnut character. Full-bodied, dense and chewy. Very fresh. Chocolate, mango, ripe strawberry and bright finish. Needs four or five years to soften. Classic tannins.' 98 points James Suckling
Gaja Barbaresco Sori Tildin, 2013
'The perfumes are fabulous here with strawberry, walnut and porcini mushrooms. Mountain herbs. Full body, tight and integrated tannins and long finish. Refined & beautiful. Hard not to drink now.' 97 points, James Suckling
