Likened to Armand Rousseau by Neal Martin and one to watch, rising star Xavier Horiot's reclamation of Domaine Launay Horiot must be one of the most remarkable stories in the Côte d’Or. These are absolutely up there with the best red Burgundies being produced in Pommard and Chambertin.

Both of Xavier Horiot's Grands Crus are breathtaking and the Latricieres comes from a small 0.17ha parcel adjacent to Chambertin (and next to Duroché). This is always a gorgeous Grand Cru that you should absolutely snap up if you are offered some!

What the critics say:

96-98/100Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy

"A fine rich mid purple. A bouquet of startling beauty, the fruit profile follows the vintage on its raspberry and cherry axis, but it is the class which counts. This Latricières delivers grand cru intensity in a particularly fine framework, with good acidity as much as tannin to provide the structure. A fine persistent finish. Wonderful wine. Drink from 2034-2042. Tasted: November 2023. *****"

94-96/100Neal Martin, Vinous

"The 2022 Latricieres-Chambertin Grand Cru, matured in 75% new oak, has a fragrant nose with black cherries, wild strawberries and touches of pressed white flowers. A faint wet clay/pottery wheel scent comes through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip and crunchy black fruit laced with black pepper and graphite. It delivers the structure one expects from this Grand Cru, though it is a serious wine, and as such, it will demand several years in bottle."
