Famous for its Grands Vins, the Mas de Daumas Gassac has been a family owned vineyard for more than 40 years and belongs to the Guibert family.
It is set in a wild and enchanting valley, close to the magnificent romanesque abbey of Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert. 50 hectares of a deep, well drained soil, free from any chemical fertilisers.
It is this fabulous terroir, similar to the best parts of Burgundy, that Henri Enjalbert, the great Professor of Geology at Bordeaux university, rediscovered in the 1970s.
30% Vermentino, 30% Chardonnay, 20% Viognier, 20% Colombard.
Quite a complex, action packed fruit salad nose - cinnamon dusted, everything from candied limes to yellow melon to mandarin to apricot, a whiff of smoke and toasted pine nuts. Palate is similarly full but shows good tension, the richness and oiliness balanced by zest, salt and stones around a core of white stone fruit and citrus and dried papaya. The finish is refreshingly saline.

What the critics say:
"The 2020 Pont de Gassac White is a fascinating blend of Vermentino, Chardonnay, Viognier and Colombard. It gives little away on the nose but is mouth-wateringly creamy and herbal in the mouth and, although delicate, has weight on the finish."
