In a remote site in the Maipo Valley Eduardo Chadwick also makes (sadly in highly limited quantities) the eponymous Viñedo Chadwick in honour of his late pioneering father Alfonso.
This wine is utterly iconic, winning the Berlin Tasting with Seña back in 2004 above a ferocious line-up of First Growths and SuperTuscans, whilst the 2014 was the first Chilean wine to be awarded a perfect score by James Suckling.

What the critics say:
"The 2022 Viñedo Chadwick comprises 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot, sourced from the Puente Alto vineyard. Among Chile's iconic wines, Viñedo Chadwick has carved out a unique place for elegance and intensity, and this vintage is a stunning example. Aged for 20 months, with 90% in new French oak barrels and 10% in foudres, this bright purple wine unfolds nuanced aromas of cassis, ash and black pepper, complemented by a deep cedar layer that evolves into subtle floral and spicy hints. Dry, with fine-grained tannins and a juicy flow, its deep flavors lead to a structured and slightly austere mouthfeel—a finessed Bordeaux-oriented red with the plush tannins of Maipo. Beautiful."
"The 2022 Viñedo Chadwick is equal parts composed and commanding, entering with an aromatic intensity that stays under the surface but holds excellent energy and power. The nose is darkly fruited, herbal and wonderfully gravel-laden and toasted, displaying pitch-perfect harmony between all elements. The texture is sumptuous yet graceful, displaying fantastic poise and clarity through its classically structured framing and balance. The finish calls back the nose's multidimensionality, simultaneously achieving a flashy, rugged persistence housed in an exquisite, understated and nuanced package. This is a real work of art that should deliver immense pleasure for two decades. It's a blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot, aged for 18 months in predominantly barrique with a small portion of foudre."
"Aromas of blackcurrants, crushed stone, bay leaves, graphite, violets and some rust. Full-bodied with layers of velvety tannins that turn to cashmere. Juicy and flavorful. Needs time to open. It’s extremely structured and solid. Best after 2027."
