Rutini Trumpeter Rosé de Malbec Brut

Mendoza, Argentina

Other Sparkling

Made from 100% Malbec grapes, grown in the vineyards of Tupungato, Mendoza. The wine was made using the traditional method, the same way that Champagne is made in France. The wine is put into the bottles with a little yeast and sugar, and stored in cellars for a second fermentation in the bottle that creates the fizz; it was left on the lees for 16 months.

A beautiful bright salmon pink in colour. On the nose there are plenty of delicate red berries, strawberries and cherries with slight toasty notes and a touch of caramel. The palate is crisp and refreshing and sings with yet more bright red fruits. Strawberry, cherry and cranberry fruit in the forefront backed up by delicate herbal and toasty notes and a delicious creamy texture coming from the lees aging. This will give any Rosé Champagne a good run for its money – and it’s Malbec!

Goodness..what a wine to be drinking whilst watching Roger Federer win his 8th Wimbledon title! Totally deserving of the big occasion this wine really delivers...sunshine in a bottle ( don't be put off by the slightly amateurish labelling ). Hard to tell the difference between this and a champagne...wonderful combination of creamy dryness and summer fruit...cheers!!

Bodega Rutini

The Rutini family winemaking tradition began in the early 19th century in Le Marche, Italy, when Francisco Rutini started making wines for the inhabitants of his native town, Ascoli Piceno. Thereafter, his only son Felipe Rutini immigrated to the Americas to extend the winemaking tradition.

Named after one of Mendoza´s mountain peaks, the Tupungato Valley was no more than a stop-over on the road to the mountains when Don Felipe began to plant their first vines, under the slogan ¨Labor and Perseverance¨. In 1925, they were leading the industry, and Felipe had created a lasting legacy for top quality wines in Argentina.

At an elevation of 3000 to 5000 feet (900 to 1500 meters) above sea level, the Tupungato Valley offers many different microclimates, creating optimal growing conditions. Today it is recognised as one of Mendoza´s premier viticulture regions.
