Domaine de Montille Pommard 1er Cru 'Les Rugiens - Bas'

At de Montille’s cellar in Meursault, winemaker Brian Sieve led me through a tasting of the domaine’s top cuvées, including the ever-sought-after Volnay 1er cru “Taillepieds”, Pommard 1er cru “Rugiens-Bas” and Vosne-Romanée 1er cru “Malconsorts”. The quality of the wines and Brian’s animated and eloquent explanation of the vintage and vineyard factors that influence their character are essentials components of any trip to the region and this visit was no exception. He used fewer whole bunches and extracted 25% less during fermentation of the reds than 2015, as wanted to ensure the wines remained supple rather than angular, comparing the vintage stylistically to 2002 “with its ripe but crunchy fruit, pure but juicy tannins and bright acidity”. Reds here were ample but energetic, with signature powdered velvet tannins.

These lovely wines and gifts are stored in our cellar in Clapham, ready for immediate dispatch (and drinking)! If we have less than 12 bottles, the display will show the number available today. If you’d like more than the number shown, or it’s shown as ‘Out of Stock’ / ‘Email to order’, just call us or drop us an email to confirm your order and delivery schedule, as our winemakers send us fresh stocks frequently.
Fast Delivery takes 1-3 working days and costs £12.50 for orders under £75. Orders over £75 are subject to Fast & FREE Delivery.
Same Day Delivery London is available to most London postcodes as listed in our T&Cs, if ordered by 11am Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). For orders over £75 London Same Day, delivery is charged at £15. For orders under £75 London Same Day, delivery is charged at £27.50. If ordered after 11am, you will receive your order on the next working day. We may be able to organise a speedy courier for you, so please call or email us if you have special requests. What a great way to get that wine to your office or home for the evening!
Saturday Delivery costs £30. This option is available to all UK mainland postcodes for orders placed between 1pm on Thursday and 1pm on Friday. This is optional at checkout, to be chosen in place of our standard 1 – 3 working day service. If you specifically need to place an order for Saturday delivery outside of the above times, please contact us at orders@honestgrapes.co.uk and we will see if we can arrange this for you.
CLUB OFFERS
Our Club Offers may take longer to ship, as we collect all of our members’ orders together before ordering them from the winemaker. The expected delivery timelines for each product should be specified on the product page. Otherwise, please contact us for the information.
