Ramirana La Roblería Vineyard
Ramirana was born in the Chilean countryside and is linked to the traditions of Chile’s Creole horse. In valleys where every vineyard is carefully chosen to obtain innovative blends with unique aromas and exceptional flavours. Well-balanced, elegant and fresh wines, where the fruit takes the reins and the soul of their Creole horses can be felt in every bottle.
2017 was characterized by being a year that presented medium to high temperatures. The vineyard, for all the varieties, delivered a low yield, which translated into wines concentrated in aroma and flavor, with great color intensity. Therefore, the grapes were harvested early in the season to achieve balance between alcohol and acidity. In addition, during the maturity period there wasn't any rain, so the sanitary condition of the grapes at the harvest was optimal.
Great intensity and rich aromatic layers. Notes of cassis contributed by Cabernet Sauvignon stand out, together with notes of spices such as black pepper and paprika from the Carménère and wild black and blue berries from Petit verdot. Finally, sweet notes of vanilla, cinnamon and cloves from aging in French oak barrels.
"Nose of ripe blackberries, dried figs, graphite and wet stones. Some good, juicy fruit and minerality on the palate. Firm and very smooth with good tension in the middle. Elegant, restrained style. A blend of 68% cabernet sauvignon, 18% carmenere and 14% petit verdot." 92 pts, James Suckling
