A great mixed cases built up by our Wine Guru Tom:
Domaine Taupenot Merme, Chambolle Musigny, 2013: "The 2013 Chambolle-Musigny has a tightly-knit bouquet with strawberry pastille scents emerging from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite sturdy in the mouth with a mixture of black and red fruit on the inward-looking finish..." Neal Martin, WA
Gramercy Cellars Lagniappe Syrah, 2015: "The 2015 Syrah Lagniappe offers up a rich, extravagant bouquet of ripe plums, blackberries, bay leaf, black olive and cola. On the palate, it's full-bodied, rich and layered, with an ample core of succulent fruit that largely conceals fine-grained, chewy tannins that only assert themselves on the finish..." 95 pts, William Kelley WA
Mirafiore Barolo, 2014: "Lovely scents of perfumed berry, blue flower, underbrush and wild mint take center stage while the ethereal graceful palate offers crushed strawberry, sour cherry, star anise and a hint of white pepper alongside lithe tannins. Bright acidity lends balance and energy." 90 pts, Wine Enthusiast.
Domaine Philippe Colin, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru 'Maltroie', 2017: "[...]with aromas of pineapple, fresh stone fruits and mirabelle complicated by a stony element. A step up in thickness and depth too, but with its sweetness effortlessly buffered by serious mineral thrust..." 90-92/100 Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
Villa Sparina Gavi Di Gavi Monterotondo DOCG, 2016: "Hard to imagine how Gavi can be much better than this; it opens with cloves, thyme, lemon meringue, white pepper, dried citrus and a touch of apricot flan and vanilla. Full-bodied and very oily, channelled along with energy by laser-sharp acidity..." 93/100, James Suckling
Champagne Pol Couronne, Cuvee Millesime, 2012: The nose opens with aeration, we discover toasted and dried fruit notes. The attack on the palate is well structured and rich, giving way to a beautiful freshness on the finish. A powerful and mineral vintage.
