Champagne Pol Couronne, Cuvee Millesime
- Champagne, France
The Champenois terroir is imbued with a strong identity, marked by the specificities of its soils and its grape varieties, as well as by its climatic conditions under oceanic and continental influences. It is this complexity that the house Pol Couronne makes a point of honor to find in its wines to best represent the region by a delicate blend of quality grape varieties that are the Chardonnay (from excellent terroirs including some classified in Grand Cru such as Avize), Pinot Noir (mainly those from Ambonnay and Bouzy for our Grand Cru vintages) and Pinot Meunier (mainly from the Marne Valley).
Pol Couronne 2012 is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and has undergone a maturation period of 42 months on lies.
The colour is golden yellow and its foam is fine and abundant. The olfaction is complex and slightly roasted. The nose opens with aeration, we discover toasted and dried fruit notes. The attack on the palate is well structured and rich, giving way to a beautiful freshness on the finish. A powerful and mineral vintage.
