Charlie's Summer Case
It's going to be an unfamiliar August, with many of us choosing not to travel abroad and instead stay at home. So I have put together a special Summer Mixed Case for you to expand your vinous horizons and keep your thirst for adventure satisfied from the comfort of your own home!
Vette di San Leonardo Sauvignon Blanc, 2018: "Lots of sliced green apples and mouthwatering gooseberries on this one, and not, thankfully, much in the way of pyrazine character. Good body and oiliness on the palate, but it’s also taut and quite vivacious. Drink now." 92 pts, James Suckling
Champagne Pol Couronne Brut Rosé, NV: "The development of this cuvée is carried out with respect for traditions. We select our most beautiful Pinot Meunier to create a Coteaux champagne which will bring this magnificent colour to our Brut Rosé, a champagne that will seduce you." Pol Couronne
Château Teyssier, 2015: "Bright summer berry compote and light pastry notes. The palate has a plush, ripe and open-knit feel. Drink now." 91 pts, James Suckling
Castello Romitorio Romitòro, 2018: "Dark plum, prune and blackberry emerge at the top. Lighter notes of spice, smoke and tar also appear. Pair this wine with your favourite steak dinner. [...] RomiTòro is one of the great value wines to emerge from Tuscany." 93+ pts, Monica Larner, WA
Domaine Nadine Ferrand Pouilly Fuisse Climat 'Pouilly', 2018: Butterscotch, toffee apple, honeycomb and peach tarte with pressed white flowers nose. Rich, spicy mouthfeel with honeydew melon and lush papaya notes, oak supports nicely with a little brioche and butter coming through but the precise saline finish and acids maintain finesse.
Pezat Rosé, 2019: “Delicate pale pink blush, golden hues. The nose is dominated by crushed strawberries, red cherries and pineapple, tipped with a touch of mint, a hint of juniper and white floral notes. The palate is finely balanced; both fresh and voluptuous, developing crisp citrus flavours that lead to a long refreshing finish.” Neil Whyte, head winemaker
Due to high demand we've temporarily increased our standard delivery fee to £12.50 for orders under £75 - orders over £75 still come with free delivery!
We are also no longer able to guarantee “Express" next day delivery. We hope to have this back up and running as soon as possible but in the meantime, our deliveries will take a little longer than usual (roughly 2-3 days).
SOMMELIER SELECTION, ‘LAST FEW’ AND GIFTS
These lovely wines and gifts are stored in our cellar in Clapham, ready for immediate dispatch (and drinking)! If we have less than 12 bottles, the display will show the number available today. If you’d like more than the number shown, or it’s shown as ‘Out of Stock’ / ‘Email to order’, just call us or drop us an email to confirm your order and delivery schedule, as our winemakers send us fresh stocks frequently.
Standard Delivery takes 2-3 working days and costs £7.50 for orders under £75. Orders over £75 are subject to FREE Standard Delivery. Standard and Express Delivery is available for most mainland UK postcodes as listed in our T&Cs. Express Delivery costs £12.50. Express delivery orders over £75 are £5.
