Jesuits built the chateau in 1857 and then discovered in 1898 the cave system underneath which dates back to at least the Roman Empire, and was to prove perfect for storing the wines they started to produce. Bought from the church by the Sara family in 1973 (including the stocks of wines), production stopped two years later due to the outbreak of war and only in 1990 did the family start to rebuild. There are over a million bottles stored under ground and today Ksara makes well-balanced, mid-weight whites and reds in a satisfyingly classical style.

"Founded in Lebanon in 1857, Ksara has seen a lot of conflict. The single-vineyard 2006 Chardonnay was harvested as the country was still reeling from the 34-day Israel-Hezbollah war. "This is our war wine", says Ksara's Elie Maamari. Deep golden green, it's almost defiantly opulent, with honeyed notes of tropical fruits and nuts."

We are also no longer able to guarantee “Express" next day delivery. We hope to have this back up and running as soon as possible but in the meantime, our deliveries will take a little longer than usual (roughly 2-3 days).

These lovely wines and gifts are stored in our cellar in Clapham, ready for immediate dispatch (and drinking)! If we have less than 12 bottles, the display will show the number available today. If you’d like more than the number shown, or it’s shown as ‘Out of Stock’ / ‘Email to order’, just call us or drop us an email to confirm your order and delivery schedule, as our winemakers send us fresh stocks frequently.

Standard Delivery takes 2-3 working days and costs £7.50 for orders under £75. Orders over £75 are subject to FREE Standard Delivery. Standard and Express Delivery is available for most mainland UK postcodes as listed in our T&Cs. Express Delivery costs £12.50. Express delivery orders over £75 are £5.
For Express Delivery (next working day) orders need to be placed before 1pm. Orders placed after 1pm will be received after two business days.
