This is one of the finest of the 2016 GGs from the Mosel.

The charming and self-effacing couple of Clemens and his wife Rita have gained a cult following over the past three decades for their laser-sharp, richly textured and terroir defined wines. Riesling is the king of grapes, the Mosel its most illustrious terrain and so produces its ultimate expression. Nowhere in the world is the identification of vine, winemaker and produce more precisely defined, and nowhere have we found Rieslings to compare with these.

Riesling is the king of grapes, the Mosel its most illustrious terrain and so produces its ultimate expression. Nowhere in the world is the identification of vine, winemaker and produce more precisely defined, and nowhere have we found Rieslings to compare with these.

In the sweet versus dry debate, it’s worth noting that Clemens only uses natural yeasts, preferring each wine to find its perfect balance in each vintage.

"From weathered gray slate, Busch's 2016 Pündericher Marienburg Riesling GG "Falkenlay" offers a clear, pure and fine, highly complex and smoky bouquet of crushed stones and bright fruit aromas. Full-bodied, lush and salty, this is an enormously tensioned and intense Riesling that reveals a concentrated fruit core with a long, elegant and tensioned finish. The texture is almost silky and the minerality perfectly integrated. This is one of the finest of the 2016 GGs from the Mosel. Bottled in late September 2017; tasted February 2018." 95+/100, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate
