Domaine Long-Depaquit Chablis 1er Cru 'les Vaillons'
This has such fleshy and attractively ripe peach and lemon aromas.
- Burgundy, France
Located on the left bank of the Serein River, just on the outskirts of Chablis, 'Les Vaillons' offers a classic example of what the region has to offer. A 4.3ha vineyard on the village’s south west border, with clay-limestone atop the famous Kimmeridgian clay (named after the town of Kimmeridge in Dorset – that has yet to show off truly world class whites!). This sees 10% oak which bumps up the herbal, lactic notes that sit alongside the green apple and citrus nose. Succulent, juicy with impressive tension right to the finish.
"This has such fleshy and attractively ripe peach and lemon aromas with a palate that’s so precisely carved into shape, offering smooth-honed, rich, acid-cut lemons and white peaches. Some light hazelnut bread to close. Drink on release or hold."92-93/100, Nick Stock, James Suckling
