Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
- California, United States
"Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon charges from the gate with exuberant red and black cherries notes, black currants and mulberries with a beautiful roses and lavender perfume, plus hints of sandalwood and cinnamon stick. Full-bodied, concentrated and downright explosive in the mouth, it is still wearing loads of gorgeous puppy-fat fruit flavors, offering suggestions of the complex, multilayered blockbuster that it will emerge into. The structure deserves its own mention: wonderful, seamless freshness and oh-so-fine, pixelated tannins, with an extraordinary persistence of fruit and mineral nuances. Wow. Drink 2019-2049"
100/100 Wine Advocate (Oct-2017)
We tried the Eisele 2015s earlier this year and have been waiting feverishly for their release as were absolutely stunning. 2013 was the first release under new owners Artemis Domaines (Francois Pinault’s group of wineries which includes Chateau Latour, Domaine Grillet and most recently Clos de Tart) and their Estate Cabernet received 100 points from The Wine Advocate. The feat has been repeated with 2015.
“Tight berry and cherry nose, with compact earth, spice and stones, decidedly Christmassy. The extremely juicy, ample, glossy fruit is precocious and savoury-edged, with a great vibrancy and energy despite it’s concentration. There is no trace of over-ripeness and the tannins are fine-grained and spicy, with a “aerien”, lifted, smoke-like finish. You could almost drink this now it’s so harmonious on the palate but it’s very clear this will develop beautifully over the next five decades”
Tom's notes on the Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
Organic since 1991 and biodynamic since 2000, the wines have a distinct purity and finesse allied to a depth of ripe, spicy and herbal fruits.
