The Henschke family has been making wines for five generations, a winery marked both by rich tradition as well as forward-thinking innovation. Their wines come from some of Australia's oldest vines and are produced using biodynamic and organic methods, to preserve the quality of the vines and soil for the generations to come. The contrast between the wines of Henschke and other iconic South Australian Shiraz producers couldn’t be more stark, whereas Barossa Valley Shiraz is dense and rich, Eden Valley being at a much higher elevation, produces biodynamic wines of great purity and elegance, lower alcohol levels and delicious concentration of fruit.
Organic & Biodynamic Wines
With minimal intervention and low sulphur – the cornerstones of any good organic winemaker – critics argue you can actually taste this living environment, the wine’s ‘terroir’. Biodynamic winemaking goes beyond organics, it's a holistic approach to farming. Following the biodynamic calendar vineyard tasks will only occur on stated days and only natural products will be used.
