Wine Shop - Sommelier Selection - Chateau Trebiac

Château de Trébiac

Château de Trébiac is the second wine of Château Crabitey situated on a beautiful plateau in Portets 35 km south of Bordeaux.  The name is derived from the area’s gravel soils which help to create the distinctive profile of Cabernet Sauvignon grown in Graves: structured, floral and mineral-driven.

The château was built by Franciscan nuns in 1872 and used as an orphanage with vineyards planted to provide an income for the estate.  Jean-Ralph de Butler purchased the property in 1985 and set about modernising production facilities, planting new vines and building a new winery.  His son Arnaud inherited the estate in 1999 with a key focus on transitioning to sustainable farming (agriculture raisonnée).

Château de Trébiac is one of the stars of our Sommelier Selection.  It is consistently voted best in its price bracket during Premier Crew evenings with our Club members.  With Best Buy status from Wine Enthusiast, it is unquestionably one of the best value reds to come out of Bordeaux!
