The Fleurie La Madone 2021 from Albert Bichot is everything you want from a classic Beaujolais Cru - elegant, fragrant, and effortlessly drinkable. Made from 100% Gamay grown on the slopes around the famous La Madone chapel, this wine is all about bright red fruits like raspberry and cherry, with a lovely floral lift of violets and peony.
On the palate, it’s silky and supple, with just enough structure to keep things interesting, and a fresh, juicy finish that keeps you coming back for more. It’s the kind of wine that shines slightly chilled and pairs beautifully with everything from roast chicken to grilled veggies or a simple charcuterie board.
"Albert Bichot makes excellent wines across the whole of Burgundy, north to south. As the temperatures warm up, there's no better option than to head as far south as possible and their excellent Fleurie coming from the 'La Madone' vineyard, one of the most revered sites in Beaujolais. With a classically perfumed, floral nose, there are also lots of ripe raspberry, strawberry and cranberry fruit with a hint of baking spice on the finish. This is an ideal picnic wine, extremely versatile and even more enjoyable just slightly chilled on a hot day."

What the critics say:
"A light-bodied Fleurie that’s got plenty of pretty floral aromas, but also a gentle touch of tannin and a crisp stony acidity. Drink now while the red berry fruit is still lively."
