Taittinger’s Folies de La Marquetterie is a little gem in the portfolio, the original grower chamagne – and a touch richer and rounder than the standard Brut – perfect now the weather is cooling.

Nadine Ferrand’s St Veran is Pouilly-Fuissé quality at Macon-Villages price, a rare bargain in Burgundy.

Who says rosé is just for summer? – Jonathan Maltus’ Le Reve has enough substance to be enjoyable well into Autumn – in fact bottles are highly recommended with smoked salmon at Christmas!

South African Chenin is at an exciting point right now (we have just launched our first club barrels in fact) and the very old vine Kaapzicht is particularly impressive.

I’ve included a pair of 2017 reds – Villa Gresti, San Leonardon’s Merlot-based cuvée – the Pomerol of Trentino, and a really satisfying Bulgarian native variety – mavrud, from the country’s top grower – which offers exceptional value for its quality and has gone down a storm in recent tastings.
