Long occupying one of Tuscany's most scenic sites, Argiano make a fabulous Rosso di Montalcino that stylistcally falls somewhere between approachable, gluggable Rossos and the more serious "baby Brunello" approach.

The wine is invariably fresh, lifted and elegant, so is always delicious on release, yet the wealth of fruit and structured, balanced acidity mean Argiano's Rosso can also age very well.

Tenuta di Argiano

Argiano is one of the oldest and most beautiful estates in Montalcino (and was one of the members of the original Brunello Consorzio).

Although the estate is situated in the south of the region which tends to be several degrees warmer than vineyards to the north, the vineyards achieve good elevation and comprise a high percentage of the mineral-rich marl in their clay limestone soil, also found in the hill of Montosoli – Montalcino’s widely accepted “Grand Cru” site.
