Wine is in Ruth's blood but cooking is her passion. A "hostess with the mostest", sharing her wine and food pairings with others brings her the most joy.
Here are my current favourite wine and food pairings.
Always remember that wine’s role is to compliment the food creating a beautiful harmony between the two, never a struggle. Enjoy!
Mas De Daumas Gassac, Blanc, 2020 (Languedoc-Roussillon)
Main grapes: Viognier, Chardonnay and Petit Menseng with a small amount of Chenin Blanc. A unique wine with lots going on. Medium-bodied, layers of tropical fruits and honey. Long finish. Food Pairing: French Onion Soup

Hints of spice, honey and toast with good minerality and a soft finish. Food pairing: Honey garlic butter baked salmon in foil
Fleurie, Vendanges Entieres, Jane Eyre, 2021 (Burgundy)
Gamay doesn’t get better than this! Juicy, touch of spice, lovey red fruits of blackberry and Cherry. Food Pairing: Creamy Chicken Orzo with mushrooms and bacon
Villa Sparina Barbera del Monferrato DOC, 2021 (Piedmont)
One of my favourite producers! Perfumed with violets & red berries. Juicy, round and vibrant with soft tannins and a long, lush finish. Also love the bottle on my table. Food Pairing: Venison stew
