Nestled in the heart of Burgundy's hallowed terroir lies Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard, a name synonymous with excellence, tradition, and the pursuit of crafting wines that capture the very essence of this revered wine region.

Founded in 1985, this family domaine has grown steadily and now encompasses 12 hectares of meticulously tended vineyards. While their roots lie primarily in Chassagne-Montrachet, they also nurture precious plots in Volnay and Pommard. Today, Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard is in the capable hands of Céline Fontaine, who carries forward the family's winemaking tradition. 

The Wine

The winemaking philosophy at Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard is all about hands-on craftsmanship. Each step of the winemaking process is meticulously attended to, respecting tradition while embracing modern techniques. At the heart of Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard's winemaking ethos is a profound commitment to terroir. It's about letting the land speak through the wine, showcasing the individuality of each vineyard plot. Their wines are a journey through the Côte de Beaune, a celebration of the region's diverse terroirs.

Each wine enjoys an ageing period of 12 to 18 months in oak barrels. The proportion of new oak varies, with Village appellations using around 15-20%, while Premiers Crus and Grands Crus have up to 30-40% new oak. They meticulously select the source of their oak, ensuring that it harmonises perfectly with their wines!
