Bouchard's Montrachet Grand Cru always goes toe-to-toe with the hallowed greats of Burgundy, for a fraction of the price... just have a look at the table below.

JM: Jasper Morris / DEC: Decanter / AM: Allen Meadows (Burghound)
Comtes Lafon & DRC price based on single bottles (only UK availability)
With Domaine de la Romanée Conti sitting at one edge to the south and Domaine Ramonet to the north, the only thing separating the three plots is an outstretched arm on either side. Bouchard hold the exact centre of the Montrachet vineyard, a single area which runs the length of the slope.
We have three cases of this beauty available, first-come first-served. Likely to age for decades and reach the pinnacle of white Burgundy, this really is something special.
Optimal drinking window: 2028 - 2049

What the critics say:
"Hailing from the Puligny side on the upper slopes between DRC and Ramonet, this sublime wine has incredible freshness and a dazzling aromatic profile. Cinnamon and clove blend with pear core, chamomile, sweet orchard fruit and crushed rocks. Though thoroughly concentrated with good extract, the wine seems to float on the palate thanks to the gracious lift of the seamless, mouth-watering acidity. Vague chalkiness adds compelling texture to the long finish."
"Excellent fresh clear lemon yellow. Very backward, very promising. Just little traces of all sorts of things, a little bit of oak, a little bit of citrus, a wealth of ultra-pure white fruit and of course the extraordinary intensity and persistence of this great vineyard. So many nuances to follow, I think this will be a great example. They made the perfect choice of picking date, I suspect."
"This wine has everything. Bouchard farms 0.89ha of well-positioned vines in Montrachet – south of Ramonet on the Puligny side (and north of the first DRC block in Chassagne). The grapes are pressed slowly as whole clusters before fermentation in cask (only 15% new) to accent the purity of fruit. The exquisite aromas range from citrus and green apple, to riper apple, apricot and peach, with hints of chamomile, cream and bitter underpinned with a firm minerality. This vintage truly has an impressive depth of flavour and persistence on the palate."
