About Honest Grapes
Everything there is to know about us
Well, there we were: a mix of wine enthusiasts, wine professionals, and friends bemoaning how difficult it is to find a website which offers a wide selection of great value, quality wines, at reasonable prices. And when we say reasonable prices, we all meant something fair and equitable – not the usual inflated mark ups, false discounts and BOGOFs that are so prevalent in retail these days.
We also wanted a website that had a community feel with fun social tasting events; a back-to-basics, no nonsense, exciting approach to such a glorious product.
The discussion continued through supporting independent growers, small wineries, producers who consider the wine’s character and value more than volume and branding, not to mention the hardworking agents and small importers who work tirelessly to bring such wines to a wider audience. It moved on to different wine varieties and styles, from the mid-week thirst-quenchers to the once-a-year treats.
We toured France, Italy, Spain and Portugal, picked up a few friends in Germany, Austria and Greece before heading to the New World to find wines from South Africa, the Americas and Antipodes. Returning home, we picked up some of the best homegrown wines from the UK.
Passions flared as favourites were promoted and tales were told. Then some bright spark said “Put your money where your mouth is”.
So, we did. And the result is, Honest Grapes - the quality wine marketplace. We’re pretty proud to be a part of it; we rather hope you will be too.

What makes the Honest Bunch?
Tom is our WineChap. With fifteen years in the business, writing, buying, selling and hosting great events, he is a jack of all (wine) trades and trying to master a few of them. Tom has tried a large spectrum of excellent wines from all over the world and is delighted to have lined up so many of them here for you to enjoy.Favourite food and wine combo

Our Chairman's a prolific angel investor who has advised, started and invested in many a company. He’s passionate about wine, WSET qualified and runs wine tastings for business, friends and charity as well as travelling the world in search of the perfect wine. He’s far happier with a well priced decent quality wine than anything too fancy. As a scientist, he brings structure and rigour to our company processes. Yessir!Favourite food and wine combo
Roast leg of lamb and a lovely Pinot Noir from Burgundy, Oregon or New Zealand sets Nathan aquiver! For easy drinking, a pleasantly saline Picpoul de Pinet with some canapes will do, thanks.
Malcolm is our CFO. New to the wine trade but with rather more years experience in accounting and finance than he would like to admit, he has the responsibility of keeping the company and the team up to date and aware of the less interesting financial side of life. Outside of finance he is our resident Divemaster, and also a keen rugby fan constantly dragging people along to matches.Favourite food and wine combo

Charlie Goblet d’Alviella
With the surname including Goblet, Charlie was destined to be in the wine business! Gaining his WSET Diploma in 2005 he joined us with a varied wine background from running a wine shop to selling to super yachts in the Med. He is our Grand Crew Club Manager and loves nothing better than discussing and sharing his knowledge of all things wine with our members alongside helping host our tastings. He may well deviate to discuss all things food as he is also a passionate chef so be warned, you may need to keep on track if you just want to discuss wines!Favourite food and wine combo
Homemade pizza with chorizo, roasted artichoke and roasted peppers cooked in the woodfired oven served with a judiciously aged Brunello... or... 8hr slow cooked lamb shoulder with sweet potatoe dauphinoise and a Cornas from the 1990’s just amazing!
Luke is the ‘go to’ chap for all of our Premier Crew members. As membership manager and wine advisor, he’s always happy to answer your wine-related queries and make sure you don’t miss out on any of our tasting events. Luke is keen to help find the ideal vinous accompaniment to any occasion and also relishes the challenge of finding something new when inspiration is needed.Favourite food and wine combo
Having gained much of his wine experience from the ground up in both Australia and New Zealand, Luke likes nothing more than firing up the BBQ and pairing whatever’s seasonal with the perfect bottle.. currently enjoying lightly charred spatchcock chicken with some decent Rully.
Germante had been the heart and soul of our marketing activities since late 2019. This positive character joins us with years of experience in a wide range of marketing activities and has a goal of letting the world know how much she loves the club! Just like every classy lady, she enjoys a great vintage Don Pérignon but picks a full-bodied, fine tannin red, such as Torbreck, for dinner.
Marie Di Costanzo
Born and raised in the Bordeaux region of Saint-Estèphe into a family of winemakers, you can safely say wine runs in Marie’s veins! She has always been involved in the world of wines and in 2010 took it upon herself to create the first wine association in her Business School. A foodie and passionate about travel, she came to the UK to work for a luxury travel agency specialising in wines and gastronomy tours for several years before joining us. As Business Development Manager for Honest Grapes, her role involves developing corporate partnerships through wine events and organising club events so please feel free to say hi next time you join us!Favourite food and wine combo

Alexis has marketed her way through various sectors, and even ran her own dog day-care business, before completing her WSET Level 3 and moving into wine in 2016. Alexis organises our busy events schedule, as well as producing content for our blog, newsletter and social media channels. When Alexis is not at her desk you can find her looking after her expanding houseplant collection, or at the coast with her dog enjoying a beer and some sea air.Favourite food and wine combo
Alexis likes nothing more than a cheese board accompanied by anything from Northern Rhone.
Coming from a family of restaurateurs, wine is something Angus has grown up loving and appreciating. After excelling on his placement year at Honest Grapes and graduating from university Angus rejoined to focus on merchandising. He then completed both his level 2 and 3 WSET and after furthering his knowledge within the industry he made a natural move into sales. You will find him at most of our tasting events, and he hopes to meet you soon!Favourite food and wine combo

Clémence is the new version of Angus, who has now moved into sales. When she arrived in the UK in 2015, she decided to specialise in the wine industry, working as a sommelier, account manager and purchasing assistant. She is now our Merchandiser and is here to find and offer you exciting wines! When she is not drinking or buying wine she likes to go to rock concerts and is currently taking archery classes.Favourite food and wine combo

Theresa is Swedish, so usually it’s some weird drink that’s been concocted in the family’s backyard. When it comes to wine, she gets all civilised and loves nothing better than a crisp Sancerre with shellfish galore.
After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, he felt entitled to learn more about a subject that he’s passionate about. Therefore, he moved to the UK to pursue a career change by doing a Master’s degree in Digital Marketing at Nottingham Trent University. Now, he's on a work placement at Honest Grapes for a year of commercial experience to complete his MSc studies.Favourite food and wine combo
