Our Wine Director Tom Harrow was in Bordeaux last week and tasted the Beau-Séjour Bécot 2017 at a dinner. Such was the impression it left that we've tracked down a sumptuous parcel, which we can offer at the lowest UK market price.

2017 is one of Bordeaux's great sleeper vintages. A cooler year that Lisa Perrotti-Brown at the Wine Advocate says is "all about finesse, perfume and aromatic intensity." Galloni agrees: "readers will find more than a few stunning, rivetingly beautiful wines in 2017." Beau-Séjour Bécot is a clear case in point, with 96+ points from Perrotti-Brown, among the highest scores she gave the entire vintage.

Here's what makes this a genuine standout. Just down the road, neighbours Cheval Blanc and Angelus scored 96+ and 95 from Perrotti-Brown. It even outscores Latour in the Wine Advocate. Yet you can pick up Beau-Séjour for just £252 a case, or £240 if you buy two or more cases

No wonder current WA editor William Kelley considers "Beau-Séjour Bécot among the most compelling addresses on the Right Bank". The price is unbeatable and it's drinking beautifully now, with the stuffing to age for decades. Highly, highly recommended, and genuinely excellent value maturing claret.
