Jane Eyre Takes the Helm at Domaine Comte Armand

We couldn’t be more thrilled to congratulate Jane Eyre on her appointment as head winemaker at the illustrious Domaine Comte Armand. From her early days as an Aussie hairdresser to becoming a decorated, award-winning winemaker, Jane’s rise in Burgundy has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Since we first met Jane in 2015, we’ve been captivated by her Burgundies—wines that combine finesse, depth, and a clear sense of place. Over the years, her reputation has only grown, with critical acclaim from luminaries like Jancis Robinson, Tim Atkin, and Neal Martin, plus accolades including an RVF second star and Negociant of the Year 2020.

Domaine Comte Armand, a family-owned estate with a history stretching back to 1825, is renowned for its Clos des Epeneaux vineyard and its status as one of Pommard's best addresses. Jane steps into a lineage that has seen the domaine guided by Pascal Marchand, Benjamin Leroux, and most recently Paul Zinetti, bringing her own style to these historic vineyards while maintaining their revered character.

For our Club Members, this news will resonate particularly with those involved in, or indeed looking to sign up to, our Charmes-Chambertin 2025 barrel project. Jane's star continues to rise, and this exciting news only means more support for Jane's wines, and this Charmes Grand Cru is arguably her most special yet.

Jane’s leadership promises an exciting new chapter for Comte Armand, though in many ways this will be business as usual - beautiful, high-toned wines, with pure red fruit and supple tannins. Chapeau Jane!
