San Leonardo 2021 is now available with our special launch offer, and it's been worth the wait. We had it on taste at our Icons Tasting recently and it was an outright favourite with everyone in the room. The preorder list has been building ever since.

Anselmo Guerrieri Gonzaga calls it "a marathon runner", built for forty years in the cellar, yet already expressive and rewarding today.

Raffaele Mosca at Decanter gives it 97 points, calling it "a multilayered, shape-shifting San Leonardo" and noting "there is little reason to doubt that 2021 ranks among the most complete and cellar-worthy San Leonardo releases in recent years." James Suckling matches him at 98, praising "sleek, elegant tannins" and a "superpolished, amazingly long finish of licorice and dark fruit."

After a year of extraordinary light in the Trentino valley, the wine shows everything we love about this estate: bright Alpine acidity, that signature Carménère-driven herbal lift, graphite-laced cassis, and fully integrated tannins at just 13% alcohol. Its closest benchmark is the magnificent 2019, though Anselmo believes 2021 may ultimately prove more than its equal.
