Their legacy spans three generations and these winemakers have truly mastered bringing out the most from the region’s terroir and climate. Their carefully chosen grape varietals include traditional Portuguese varietals like Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Fernao Pires as well as familiar varietals like Alicante Bouchet, Syrah and Chardonnay.
The vines thrive in the region’s extreme summers and its cold, wet winters, bolstered by the effects of flooding from the nearby Iverian Tagus River and the naturally sandy soil. We're always looking out for new growers to add to the range, and Casal da Colelheira are up there with the finest we've tasted from Portugal!
