Chacra's '32' is named after the year the ungrafted Pinot Noir vines were planted in the Río Negro valley of Patagonia — vines that were old when Piero Incisa della Rocchetta arrived and decided, rightly, that they deserved serious attention.

This is Patagonian Pinot from a part of the world that still surprises people who haven't tried it: high-desert conditions, sandy soils, and a diurnal shift so dramatic it practically gifts the wine its freshness. The result is something genuinely Burgundian in spirit without being a pastiche of it.

What the critics say:

98/100James Suckling

"The aromas of this red are rather endless, with rose petals, rose stems, strawberries, sliced oranges, crabapples and hints of white pepper and peaches. Medium-bodied with depth of fruit. intensity and crushed stone flavors. Linear, racy and vibrant, with brightness and energetic length. From vineyards planted in 1932. 11.2% alcohol. Drink or hold."

OUR GROWERS

Bodega Chacra

Bodega Chacra was founded by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta — of Sassicaia heritage — who recognised the extraordinary potential of ancient, ungrafted Pinot Noir vines in Río Negro and set about farming them with biodynamic rigour. The estate works with three distinct old-vine parcels, each named after its planting year: 1932, 1955, and 1932 again for the entry-level Treinta y Dos. Hans Vinding-Diers, the pioneering Danish winemaker, was instrumental in establishing the winery's philosophy of minimal intervention and maximum respect for the vineyard.

Bodega Chacra is certified biodynamic and has held Demeter certification for its vineyards. The estate farms without synthetic pesticides or herbicides, following the biodynamic calendar for all vineyard and cellar work. Piero Incisa della Rocchetta has been publicly committed to organic and biodynamic principles since the winery's founding.
