Collection: Maturing Yarra Yering - August Delivery

Yarra Yering is one of those names that Australians say with quiet reverence - and once you've tasted the wines, you understand why. Founded by the late Dr Bailey Carrodus in 1969, it was among the first estates to prove that the Yarra Valley could produce wines that go toe-to-toe with Bordeaux and Burgundy.

We tasted some maturing back vintages recently and they are everything the estate's reputation promises: Beautifully delineated, high-toned, and more restrained in style than almost anything else coming out of Australia.

We chose our favourites and have a small parcel arriving this August — three wines from exceptional vintages, all duty paid, all available now at the bottom of their market. Quantities are highly limited.

The mixed case is a great way in for experimenters: Two bottles each of the Chardonnay 2021, Pinot Noir 2021 and Dry Red No.1 2020 (Cab-dominant Bordeaux blend), at £362 for six bottles. A superb introduction to one of the Southern Hemisphere's great estates.

However don't be shy about grabbing a case of your favourite variety, as these come with our highest personal recommendation.
