Bourgogne Chardonnay, Domaine de Montille, 2020

Our visits to de Montille get (thankfully) longer each year as we continue to deepen our relationship with Etienne, Brian and the team. I can’t think of another address in Burgundy that has such strength in its domaine whites and Cote de Beaune reds (and the highly sought after Vosne Romanée ‘Malconsorts’ cherry on top) so we are delighted to carry a good selection from across their portfolio.
"Aged in 600-litre barrels with plenty of lees stirring during its eleven month’s elevage, to give a lot more texture and a little more than weight than you would expect from a regional wine. From plots which Etienne purchased from Chateau de Puligny Montrachet, near Corpeaux and some delassifed Montagny too. "This is a brilliant wine from a top class vintage. It shows the best of the 2020 characteristics with ripe lemon citrus fruit, but that classic freshness we are so used to from Etienne's wines.
